How does my kid start?
With a kid code instead of a login. Parents create the code at home, clubs create team codes for their groups. The kid taps the code and lands straight in today's session — no email account needed, no password stress.

With a kid code instead of a login. Parents create the code at home, clubs create team codes for their groups. The kid taps the code and lands straight in today's session — no email account needed, no password stress.
Because kids shouldn't get their own login. The code makes the start short, safe and age-appropriate — no email account, no password, no tracking. Parents stay in control, and the kid loses no time to login theater.
Parents generate the code for their own kid under /family. Clubs and coaches generate team codes separately for their group — as a list or printable QR PDF. The two paths are completely separate.
No, nothing special. You need about 3×3 m of space, a hockey stick, a soft ball and two cones (or water bottles) as markers. The app shows the gear per drill. Special purchase? Zero.
For ice-hockey kids aged 8 to 16. Content, language and load are adapted per age group (8–10, 11–13, 14–16) — smaller distances and slower pace for younger kids, higher intensity for older ones.
Only the essentials: today's session, a timer, completion feedback, badges (small digital awards for reached goals) and a very simple profile. A session takes 8 to 15 minutes. No menus, no ads, no leaderboards, no comparisons.
The five skill drills are the technical foundation. Your kid trains four of them every day, one rests depending on the rotation. The goal: truly master five drills — not know fifty superficially.
The five drills stay the same — but they grow with the kid. At 9, “figure-8” is slow at 1 m spacing. At 14 it becomes 60 cm, fast, backhand only. Same drill, sharper cut. Progress visible over years.
Because consistency beats talent. Train the same toe-drag for 365 days and you see your own progress — 23 reps yesterday, 31 today. That motivates more than new drills every week. Pros do it the same way: Crosby trains today what he did at eight.
Boss Friday
Every Friday brings a special drill — the Boss drill. Higher difficulty than the daily skill drills. Clear four Boss Fridays in a row and you get your own award. A weekly highlight ice-hockey kids look forward to.
Athletic Wednesday
Every Wednesday an athletic exercise replaces one of the daily skill drills — strength, jump, mobility or core. Hockey-specific: skating hips, jump power, core. Effect: stronger shots, more explosive starts, fewer injuries.
The wildcard is the fifth slot next to the four skill drills. It changes daily (Mon–Thu) from a larger pool — variety in an otherwise constant plan. The five drills are never all the same; every day brings a fresh accent.
A Heroskills session takes 8 to 15 minutes. Five drills with short breaks. Done as soon as the timer runs out or the kid taps “Finished”. Parents can't force it — the kid taps it themselves.
No. Only the club and coach see the full drill library. Kids focus on the daily training — no choice stress, a clear order.
The session is marked and can be made up. No public lists, no shaming. The “days in a row” counter resets, the longest streak stays as a best mark. A pressure-free way back in.
Stop the training immediately, tell the parents, log a note in the app. The plan can then be adjusted — shorter, different drills, or a break. Safety comes before everything else.
No, families start completely independently. Club and coach are a separate area for teams. Both run in parallel: a kid can train at the club AND at home via Heroskills at the same time — the data stays separate.
Already in the first week. Every session saves concrete numbers (e.g. “23 wall shots in 60s”). From day 7 the poster shows a mini-curve per drill — visible progress instead of a vague “it does something”.
Nothing bad. The “days in a row” counter resets, the longest streak stays as a best mark. The Boss Friday streak keeps running as long as Friday itself is trained. No pressure, no punishment — just motivation to get back in.
Plateaus are normal — that's exactly where discipline turns into skill. In this phase Heroskills shows the longest clean streak, the Boss Friday streak and consistency awards. On a real setback: shorten training, talk to the coach, take 2 days off. You decide.
Yes. Parents see a calm overview: rhythm, progress, badges (digital awards) and rewards — without a comparison list or pressure. You don't have to ask every day, you see it at a glance.
Yes. Up to 3 kids per family account, each with their own code, plan and rewards. All under one parent login.
Yes. Parents export their kid's released progress data as a PDF — handy for coach conversations or your own archive. No data sale, no sharing with third parties.
Rewards are a parent tool, not a game mechanic. Parents set them privately for their kid (e.g. “cinema at 20 sessions”). The kid sees the goal in their profile — without a comparison value, without a ranking.
In the Heroskills model: yes. Club and coach share the platform — one account manages multiple teams, each team has multiple players. Who holds the role (coach, sports director) is up to you.
Yes. In the drill catalog the coach shows or hides individual drills for the club — hidden ones no longer appear in the sessions. The selection applies to the whole club.
Awards for progress and consistency — collected virtually by the kid. If you like, you can order them as real embroidered fabric patches, from the club or from the parents.
During the beta phase until August 16, 2026, Heroskills is free — for everyone who joins in. No credit card, no auto-renewal. After the beta we'll figure pricing out fairly, together with you.
No. Heroskills stores no health data, no heart-rate values, no injury profiles. Visible are only: name, kid code, training progress, awards and private rewards. No third-party trackers on the kid app.
Yes: training reminders, new awards and reward progress. Parent and team reminders stay strictly separate. You can fine-tune the notifications in settings or turn them off entirely.
Data is stored on European servers (Supabase, Frankfurt). No sharing with ad networks, no third-party trackers on the kid app. On request we delete the account and all data within 30 days.
